Common questions
How is “Own keys” different from Ellumo Cloud?
Own keys is the free mode: you connect your Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini or OpenAI-compatible key and pay the provider directly for what you use. Transcription can run on your phone, offline. Ellumo Cloud is a subscription with nothing to set up: Groq transcribes, or OpenAI when Groq is busy or unavailable (during the trial, recordings wait for Groq), and Anthropic’s Claude writes summaries and answers, on our keys. The first 60 minutes are free. You can switch modes any time in Settings.
Where do my recordings go?
Your library — recordings, transcripts, summaries and chats — lives on your phone; there’s no account. With Own keys, text (and audio, if the provider transcribes) goes from your phone straight to the provider you chose. With Ellumo Cloud, audio goes through our server to Groq (with a subscription, to OpenAI when Groq is busy or unavailable), and text to Anthropic; the server keeps no audio, and keeps a finished transcript or summary for 10 minutes in case of a retry. The details are in the privacy policy.
How do I delete my data?
Settings › Data › “Delete all data” removes recordings, transcripts, summaries, chats, keys and settings from your phone. Our server’s records of your Ellumo Cloud usage expire on their own, as the privacy policy says; to have them deleted sooner, write to privacy@ellumo.app.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Subscriptions are sold by the App Store and Google Play, so cancellations and refunds go through them. Cancel in your store account’s settings (from the app: Settings › Subscription); deleting the app doesn’t cancel the subscription. Refunds: reportaproblem.apple.com for the App Store, Google Play Help for Google Play. We can’t refund store purchases ourselves.
